Camellia japonica 'Spring Song'

From a plant breeder's perspective, this plant is a mystery.  The known parent isn't particularly cold hardy and rarely produces seeds, yet 'Spring Song' is here and survives Zone 6 winters.  

Light pink flowers open to a trumpet shape amidst delicate foliage. A Camellia Forest introduction.
