Camellia japonica 'Tama-no-ura'

This unique plant was discovered in the wild by a charcoal burner. The medium red flowers have a prominent white edge.  'Tama-no-ura' has been successfully crossed with various Camellia species - a high percentage of this plant's progeny appear with the white picotee edge characteristic of Nuccio's "Tama" series.
