Unlike most Fuschias that prefer growing temperatures of 55° to 80°F, this hardy heirloom cultivar is heat tolerant and blooms from late spring to first frost in full sun. The vibrant purple-red blossoms of the plant are so exotic-looking that it once inspired the creation of the color "Fuschia". While it is commonly seen cascading over the edge of a hanging basket, this hardy fuchsia becomes an eye-catching shrub when planted in the garden. When grown in a container it can be brought indoors to overwinter.
