The Korean Arborvitae is a small evergreen tree or large shrub native to Korea and northeastern China. Remaining populations in the wild of South Korea and China are protected. In cultivation, this grows as a tree with a slender, conical habit to 30' tall with time. In shrub form, the habit more common in specimens on mountain ridges, it will grow to 15' tall with a sprawling form. The attractive scale-like leaves are in flattened sprays. The leaves are green on top with contrasting white stomatal bands on the under side. Not very common but easy to grow. [Zones 5-8]
