Camellia 'Forever Julia'

  • $25.00

'Forever Julia' was introduced in 2023 for its long bloom season and unusual petal coloration.  A few blooms appear in the beginning of November and blooms continue until February. This year we have numerous blooms opening in January during weather with light freezes (20sF) and warming to the 50s during the day. The flower has 10-12 petals making it a semi-double and the white can be more pronounced with pink at the base and white petal tips. A slight fragrance can be detected on warmer days and this comes from the Camellia yuhsienensis parent. The other parent used by my dad, Clifford Parks was 'Dot Spengler' which gives it the bright color. The plant is very upright growing and somewhat open growing with small to medium leaves with light reticulation (sunken veins). The plant is vigorous and the original is over 12 feet tall in 15 years.

Height in 10 years: 8-10'

Width in 10 years: 4-5'

Bloom season: November until February

Cold hardiness: 5F (no damage at 4F)
