Magnolia foveolata x laevifolia

This is a hybrid between the Shibamichi form of Magnolia foveolata and Magnolia laevifolia 'Gail's Favorite' created by Bill Smith. As a young plant it looks like an open grower with heavy indumentum on the leaves and stems. It has survived outdoors at Tony Avent's garden near Raleigh.
