Growing Primulas
Primulas prefer a rich, moist site for best results. Adequate moisture is important to maintain green foliage all summer and they don't seem to mind a site that is a little wet. Be aware that Primulas don't perform well in dry sites. In very dry weather, they will lose all foliage, but established plants reappear when water is provided in the fall. Primulas prefer partial to dappled sunlight, with light to moderate shade. They will decline in very deep shade or full sun. Soil should be slightly acidic. They will tolerate heavy soil that retains water well.
