Also known as the Smooth maple, Nepal maple and Evergreen Chinese maple. Native to China and the Himalayas, Myanmar and Vietnam, this species is evergreen to semi-evergreen, depending on the winter temperatures, and prefers sun to part-sun.
Dark purple bark and red new growth provide visual interest. A very vigorous grower.
