This species from southern Guangxi has bright yellow flowers about 1.5 inches across and is easy to grow with good resistance to dieback disease. Spring bloom. The foliage emerges with a strong burgundy red color and the large leaves have strongly impressed veins. Some seedlings have survived outdoors with a low temperature of 13 degrees F.
