Camellia japonica 'LA Peppermint'
This antique cultivar has blooms like peppermint candy: fine red stripes on a white background. The formal double flowers will often revert to the solid red form over time, thus becoming 'Brilliant'. This cultivar shows relatively slow growth but is upright and quite dense. To guarantee a striped flower please have the plant shipped in April after we have seen it bloom.
