Camellia sinensis 'Carolina Emerald'

'Carolina Emerald' is our selection of small leaf tea. This clone has dark green leaves and is a slower grower. Christine makes a special green tea using leaves from this variety. She also makes a shade grown matcha.

The compact growth habit makes pretty rows of tea bushes we keep at 4-5 feet tall. If allowed to grow without pruning it will reach 10 feet tall. Derived from plants that survived -9F this clone has not been tested below 3F (no damage).
A good choice if a smaller plant is desired.
