Camellia sinensis 'Chiri Mountain'

We named this variety for its origin in the Chiri (also spelled Jiri)  Mountain region in Korea. The originals were wild collected and we have found it to be an extremely vigorous grower in the pots. How it does in the ground remains to be seen, so stay tuned as we just planted some in the tea garden summer of 2024!

Like all of the Korea varieties, we expect this one to be able to handle brief drops below 0 degrees Fahrenheit and is one of our most cold hardy sinensis varieties.
