A brilliant red single that starts blooming in September and is a cross between Camellia azalea and Camellia japonica 'Royal Velvet'. The cold hardiness is probably around 10F but this is not really tested. The color is outstanding and the plant is a beacon when in bloom. So far it is slightly open growing with dark green leaves.
