Cryptomeria japonica 'Tansu', Tansu Japanese Cedar

An irregularly shaped dwarf conifer introduced in 1982 by Iseli Nursery in Oregon. It is expected to reach 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide and grows 2 to 4 inches per year. Described as "sculptural" and like a miniature "mountain outline", it will become bronzed in the winter and needs protection from cold and dry winter winds. A great addition to a rock garden or in a container. Full sun to partial shade, hardy to zone 6.
