Also known as a rain lily, these are bulbs with grass-like foliage that produce a pink bloom in the summer or fall in response to rain. They may bloom multiple times in a season and look best in groups. Ours have been very cold hardy and kept their leaves all winter. In colder zones, they can be grown in containers and protected from frost in winter. The bulbs will form clumps that can be divided as needed. Resistant to deer, all parts of the plant are poisonous to humans and animals, but only if ingested. Site carefully!
Plant in full sun to partial shade in areas with soil that drains well and gets plenty of water. Great for a rain garden or near a downspout.
