'Taylor' is an upright columnar form of the Eastern red cedar, which is native to eastern parts of North America. It prefers moist soils but is highly drought resistant. This cultivar was reportedly found as a chance seedling in Taylor, Nebraska, hence the name. Eastern red cedars have male and female plants and 'Taylor' is thought to be a male.
