A medium sized evergreen tree in the laurel family native to the southeastern U.S.
Commonly known as the Swamp Bay and found in the coastal plain of North Carolina. Hardy down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit (zone 7a) and into tropical regions (zone 11b).
