This is an evergreen flowering shrub in the buxaceae family. It has narrow leaves and small whitish flowers in spring followed by red or purple berries in fall/winter. It has a compact shape with a tendency to form suckers. Also known as "sweet box".
This plant has medicinal uses in its native range and the berries are described in some sources as dangerous to pets. Site carefully!

Special considerations: the fruits are ornamental and are not to be eaten
