Sinowilsonia henryi is named for two plant explorers, Ernest Wilson (aka "Chinese" Wilson) and Augustine Henry. This member of the witch hazel family has fairly large somewhat fuzzy leaves, inconspicuous flowers and dangling fruits about 2 inches long. I have seen these grown as small trees but also as a spreading shrub.
Growth rate, habit: a small tree or shrub
Mature size: 10-20 ft high and 6-10ft wide
Soil/water: medium water, evenly-moist and well draining rich soil
Cold hardiness temperature: 0-5 degrees Fahrenheit (zone 7)
Light: full sun to part shade
Blooms: interesting
Features: fruit, botanical interest
Special considerations: deciduous, in the witch hazel family
