Thuja occidentalis is also known as arborvitae or northern/eastern white-cedar and is a member of the cypress family. They are cultivated for hedges and native to much of central and eastern North America as well as eastern Canada. 

'Thin Man' is the thinnest of the eastern arborvitae. Use it for screening in tight spaces. Site where it gets at least 4 hours of sun per day.

*Growth rate, habit: vigorous, narrow and compact

*Mature size: 15 ft high and 3ft wide

*Soil/water: well drained, moist, drought tolerant once established

*Cold hardiness temperature: -40 degrees F (zone 3)

*Light: full sun to partial shade (4 hrs of sun or more per day)

*Features: very narrow, holds color in winter

*Special considerations: long life expectancy (50-150 years), tolerates pruning well but does not have to be pruned
