Schima remotaserrata, Scatter-toothed Guger Tree
This Schima has proven to be the hardiest of the several species we have trialed. Multiple clones of S. remotaserrata came through the last few winters, when sudden drops in temperature damaged other broadleaf evergreens. The flowers are creamy white and about one inch across but are produced in clusters at the ends of the branches in mid to late summer. The flowers have a nice fragrance.
