Vaccinium arboreum

The delightfully named "Farkleberry" or "Sparkleberry" (as it is commonly known) is one of the best native Vacciniums available. Evergreen in the south but more deciduous farther north, this shrub produces abundant masses of bell-shaped, white flowers that give way to equally attractive, shiny black berries. Though the fruit is edible (however bitter and tough), keep this exquisite plant for it's ornamental value: smooth, dark brown bark covers twisting, irregular branches to create an artistically stunning garden centerpiece.  Too big to ship.
